Happy New Year 2017 - Few words on Prayer

Wishing You & Your Family

Happy New Year 2017

Few words on Prayer …

Pray to God to purify our hearts and give clarity.
Pray to God to forgive our debts.
Pray to God that we may not fall into temptation, and free us from evil desires.
Pray for inner transformation so that we constantly feel the presence of God.

Prayers are quickly heard of those who feel God is very near to them.

When you pray, pray in closed doors, in secret.
When you pray, do not think that God will here if you make too much of noise.
When you pray, do not publicise it. It is a personal affair.

When you pray, use not vein repetitions
Let prayer flow through your heart …

Let it merge into infinite as river surrenders and merges into sea ...
Let us merge in God, stay rooted in him
And be filled with Love, Faith and Surrender
Let Joy erupt from our unconditional Surrender
And Live the way he wants us to Live …
And stay in circumstances he wants us to stay …
Without any complaint, without any trace of Ego …
Let us Surrender, be Happy and Contended, Overfilled with Inner Joy.
Let us enjoy inner beauty.

Let God Radiate his Divine Love through our hearts
Let us Surrender, be Happy and Contended, Overfilled with Inner Joy.
May this inner joy continue to radiate in our lives.
… Is my prayer from the Bottom of my Heart.

Happy New Year 2017!

Prayer to Lord Ganesha

On the auspicious occasion of gaNesha chaturthi on 5th Sept 2016, let us pray to Lord Ganesha

|| ॐ श्री गणेशाय नमः ||

|| Om shrI gaNeshAya namaH ||

May Lord gaNesha, by whose grace, auspicious muhurata becomes auspicious, grant us intelligence, the discriminative power (viveka), as taught by veda-s.

O gaNesha, bless us with AtmA-anAtmA-viveka. Let the right logic guide us on spiritual path and not contrary to it.

o gaNesha, grant us vairAgya, which, along with viveka makes abhyAsa and meditation easy.

O gaNesha, we pray to you, who resides in the mulAdhAra, from where our spiritual journey begins, to direct the prANa (energy) of this chakra from material obsession, to spiritual progress.

O gaNesha, those who do not find any need to control their lower three chakra-s, and thik they can directly activate anAhata by chanting the holy names of Ishvara, let them know that there is no way for them to ignore controlling lower chakra-s, which needs thy grace.

o gaNesha, let them know that lower chakra-s are the base of spirituality and can be regulated by right dhArmika conduct and by thy grace. Neglecting them, is dangerous, as spirituality without the dharmic base, can be anything, but not spirituality. It becomes center of ego, and an opportunity of fulfilling vested interest. May you guide us properly on our spiritual path that best suits us and that we are capable of.

O gaNesha, give us initiation into spirituality, as without thy grace, nothing can be started, nothing started without grace can be fruitful.

O gaNesha, grant us the nature of thy elephant form, curiosity, the curiosity to know thy Brahman

O gaNesha, grant us the quality of being ever alert and remove laziness and procrastination.

O gaNesha, please grant us the quality of thy trunk, which is strong, flexible, and sensitive.

O gaNesha, please grace us with the quality of alertness and constant focus on Brahman, which is depicted in your eyes,

O gaNesha, grace us with the quality of thy ears, receptivity. Make us receptive to spiritual teachings and hearing the inner voice, as they are necessary for a disciple and spiritual progress.

O gaNesha, grace us with the quality of thy big belly, which is capable to digest the teachings of Atma-vidyA that the sages and gurus teach.

O gaNesha, thou residing in mUlAdhAra, no work can be accomplished if mUlAdhAra is not activated by thy grace. Please grant us thy blessings and direct all our actions towards you, the unborn, of the nature of praNava, the only creator, preserver and destroyer of the world.

O gaNesha grant us riddhi (success, accomplishment), on the spiritual path. May we, at all times, remain focused on Brahman.

O gaNesha, bless us so that our heart always longs for Brahman, as longing is the means to realise Brahman. Bless us riddhi (success) in longing.

O gaNesha, grant us dhyAna siddhi
grant us, Asana siddhi
grant us, dhyeya siddhi
and grant us, o guardian of Atma-vidyA, the best amongst all, Atma-siddhi

O gaNesha, I may forget you in extreme favorable circumstances and I may doubt your very existence in bad circumstances, but you never forget us and always do what is necessary and good for spiritual upliftment of humanity.

O gaNesha, forgetfulness may be considered a sin, but it is indeed a boon, as it is good to forget our sins after repenting and making decision not to repeat them again, as one cannot live in guilt, nor under the burden of sins. With thy blessings, we forget what is unnecessary, but we may never forget you.

O gaNesha, may I not live in past, nor do I worry about future, may I always live in present moment, as that is what I am. Let me accept 'this moment' and dissolve in it to realise truth.

o gaNesha, bless us with detachment so that we can be extra gentle on ourselves and do not need to use any force or extra effort to stay detached, but stay as witness effortlessly simply by surrendering to this moment (the presence).

O gaNesha, the foremost of all deva-s, may we all know and abide in our true nature in this life itself.

Parmartha Prasanga - Prayer and Spirituality

30.    Prayer does not consist in reciting a set formula. That bears no fruit whatever. You must feel a real want within for what you pray, suffer intense pain and agony so long as your prayer is unfulfilled. You have to be restless to find out the way and the means of gaining the object of your prayer, in spite of insuperable difficulties in your path, and to strive heart and soul to achieve it, as if life itself depended upon it. Only then will your prayer be answered and your heart's desire be fulfilled. Only such prayers reach the throne of the Most High.

31.    Highest knowledge, devotion, spirituality—these can only be acquired through great self-effort. One has to struggle hard to win them. Then only do they become one's own, and enduring, filling the mind with joy unspeakable. None can make a gift of these to another. Spiritual practice has to be diligently performed. Then only can Realisation be attained. The degree varies with the intensity of spiritual effort. What is gained without discipline or hard labour loses its gravity, is not highly valued and does not bring happiness earned by hard struggle. Moreover, it goes away as easily as it comes, and it is of little use when we are buffeted by the angry billows of life. In dangers and difficulties, in trials and tribulations, it is swept away altogether. To make spirituality one's very own, means saturating oneself thoroughly in the idea of the realisation of the Self, so that one's nature is wholly changed and an entirely new personality is developed. It is like being reborn again in this very body. Is it child's play? Such a thing is possible only if one is wide awake and strives for it to the utmost, as if one's whole life is at stake. Thus one must continue spiritual practices without interruption and with single-minded devotion as long as the Goal is not achieved.

After Purifying oneself with Nama Japa, one should not commit any sins to retain purity

Sri Ramakrishna: Well, what do you say is the way?

Goswami: Thakur ji, Nama (repetition of the holy Name) indeed takes one to Him. In the age of Kali, Name is of the greatest importance.

Sri Ramakrishna: Yes, undoubtedly. Name is of great importance. Yet if there is no love, how can it help? Deep yearning for the Lord is essential. What will it avail me if I repeat the Name but my mind remains tied to ‘lust and greed’?

“The scorpion or spider sting is not cured just like that. One has to treat it with the smoke of cow dung cakes.”

Goswami:  But what about Ajamila? Ajamila was a great sinner; there was no sin he did not commit. But he attained liberation by calling his son by his name, Narayana, at the time of his death.

Sri Ramakrishna:  Perhaps Ajamila had performed many meritorious deeds in an earlier birth. And it is a fact that he practiced austerities later in his life.

“And one can say this too, that it was his last birth. What use is it to wash an elephant if it again smears its body with mud? It becomes its original self. But before it enters its stable, if someone wipes the dust off and gives it a bath, it remains clean.

“Even if a person is purified by repeating the Name, it is possible that he may be defiled later on by committing a number of sins. Such a person has no will power. He does not promise to himself that he will not commit another sin. A bath in the Ganges makes one’s sins disappear. But then, what does it avail one if sins disappear? They say that these sins live on the trees. As soon as a person returns from his bath in the Ganges, all his old sins jump onto his shoulders from the trees. (All laugh.) The same old sins sit again on the shoulders! One takes a step or two after the bath and lo! they are there again on one’s shoulders!

“So, repeat the Name and also pray at the same time that you may develop love for the Lord. And that all transitory things, such as money, name and fame, and pleasures of the body, may have less and less attraction for you. You must pray thus.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2013

Wishing You Merry Christmas
And
A Prosperous New Year

On the holy occasion, let us offer our prayer to God and say positive affirmations which can change our lives for good of all.

Overcoming Fear

God is within me, around me, protecting me, so I will banish the gloom of fear that shuts out His guiding light and makes me stumble into ditches of error.

I will wipe away, with the soothing veil of Divine Mother’s peace, the dream fears of disease, sadness and ignorance.

Oh God ! Teach me to be tenaciously and cautiously courageous instead of often being afraid.

Heavenly spirit, Bless me that I may easily find happiness instead of becoming worried at every test and difficulty.

O Father, no matter what my tests be, may I bear them joyously by feeling Thy presence always in my heart. Thus all the tragedies and comedies of life will seem naught but dramas of ecstatic entertainment.

Be Happy

I will try to be happy under all circumstances; I will make up my mind to be happy within myself right now, where I am today.

Let my soul smile through my heart and let my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter Thy rich smiles in sad hearts.

Healing Light

Heavenly Father, teach me to remember Thee in poverty or prosperity, in sickness or health, in ignorance or wisdom. Teach me to open closed eyes of unbelief and behold Thine instantaneously healing light.

Peace

Peace flows through my heart
Peace fills me like a frageance
Peace stabs the heart of noise and worries
Peace burns through my disquietude.
Peace like red blood, vitalizes the veins of my thoughts.
Peace like boundless aurwole, encircles my body of infinity.

Dear Father, open all the windows of faith that I may behold Thee in the mansion of peace. Fling open the doors of silence that I may enter Thy temple of bliss.

Reach God

O Father, show me the highway tha leads to Thee. Give me bursting aspirations of the heart. In the echo of devotion teach me to hear Thy voice.

Father, enter Thou into my soul through the portals of my heart’s devotion and through my ardent prayers.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Happy Holidays!!!,

Oh God, Teach Me to Worship Thee

Beloved Father, teach me the mystery of my existence! Teach me to worship Thee in breathlessness, in deathlessness. In the fire of devotion, consume my ignorance. In the stillness of my soul, come, Father, come! Possess me and make me feel, in and around me, Thine immortal presence.

In the solitude of my mind I yearn to hear Thy voice. Take away the dreams of earthly sounds that yet lurk in my memory. I want to hear Thy Quiet voice ever singing in the silence of my soul.

My Lord, as Thou art omnipresent, Thou canst not be but present in me. Thou hast omnipotence and omniscience; these also are my soul attributes, May I be able to unfold even a fragment of That contained in my Self.

What is the difference between prayer and meditation?

Prajanananandaji: When you pray, it is you talking to God, while in meditation, it is God talking to you. In meditation you close your eyes to feel the presence of God within you. Love and meditation are inseparable. While praying you look at an image or any symbol, you sing the glory of God and you Talk to God, therefore you are using your senses, while meditation is a silent prayer; you close your eyes, your ears, your mouth to perceive the otherwise inaudible talk of God. When you pray you talk to God, while in meditation you listen to God talking to you. Those who meditate go into the inner chambers of silence and listen to the melodious sound OM or AMEN, the on-going primeval sound. Prayer is the expression of one’s love for God through senses while meditation is a silent prayer and the senses are introvert.

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek

to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Aum (Amen)
